The goal of this activity is to lay the foundations towards Integration and Interoperability for supporting the exploitation of the gCube-based Data e-Infrastructure facilities by other neighbouring and external ones. These activities include the definition of the Integration and Interoperability Frameworks of gCube and the establishment of a methodology for their evolution.
Methodology
A specific methodology has been defined to drive the whole activity (Methodology).
Such methodology is based on a number of Working Groups.
Integration and Interoperability Facilities Framework Definition
An overview of the entire framework is available at Integration and Interoperability Facilities Framework.
Specifications for each topic analyzed in the context of Integration and Interoperability Facilities Framework Definition can be found below:
- Client Libraries Framework Specification
- Application Service Layer Framework Specification
- HTTP API Framework Specification
- WSRF API Framework Specification
Functional Categories, Areas and Cases
Work plan
The following plan reflects the complete plan of activities for the definition of the Integration and Interoperability Framework.
- Activity (Re)Planning and Methodology Definition (Dec. 2011) - DONE: According to the approach of a two-directional definition and development of interoperability framework, the activity has to be re-planned to encompass RTD WPs activity.
- Framework Conceptualization and Work Group Definition (Jan. 2012) - DONE: Conceptualization of framework and its elements and assignment of tasks for analysis to working groups.
- Framework Principles Definition (Feb. 2012) DONE: Definition of principles governing various framework elements.
- RTD WP Assessment #1 (Aug. 2012): Assessment of developments in other RTD WPs for refining the initial concepts.
- Framework Definition (Oct. 2012): Formalization of framework definition in terms procedures and technologies, as a specialization of principles laid out in initial definition.
- RTD WP Assessment #2 (Feb. 2013): Assessment of developments in other RTD WPs for extending and specializing the previous concepts.
- Framework Toolkit Definition (Apr. 2013): Definition of technologies that form integral part of the framework.
- RTD WP Assessment #3 (Oct. 2013): Assessment of developments in other RTD WPs for finalizing the framework.
- Framework Definition Finalization (Dec. 2013): Finalization of framework definition.
